Bob, I know the theme is pizza, but couldn't pass up your comment regarding Bob's Burgers (which I agree are tasty); I just wanted to tip you to the burgers across the street at Barkley at Scotty Brown's. Definitely upscale in atmosphere and price, but I'm telling you, the plate you receive with a half-pound of kobe beef cooked medium rare, along with a heap of sweet potato fries... now THAT's a burger! (Just be ready to shell out a gourmet price for it.) Recent biz-news is Scotty Brown's has opened a 2nd location at the airport.

Hello, Sam

Thanks for the expensive burger tip.

It was in 1978 that I found myself in New York promoting an epic 28-part series titled "Mirage" for the Chicago Sun-Times.

With orders to take particularly good care of the two reporters in tow (we did "60 Minutes" and "Today," among others), I took them to dinner at Tavern on the Green and lunch the next day at Twenty-One. Two things impressed me about the latter: each table had a plug in for a telephone and the hamburgers cost $22, a really outrageous price at the time.

I checked the Scotty Brown's menu and note that there are three burgers at prices around $13-14. That's not bad if it's Kobe beef.

I'll give 'em a try. Again, thanks.
